From a tiger reserve in India, to an orphanage in Tibet, to a building project in New Orleans, Explore is a philanthropic multimedia project that involves travel to non-profit organizations and their courageous leaders around the world. These expeditions serve a dual purpose: to identify grantees for the Annenberg Foundation, and to create images and films that connect people with extraordinary cultures and ideas.

Through film and photography, Explore strives to personalize the business of philanthropy while rediscovering the human element. The team's missions have led them to places where suffering is met with compassion and where the human spirit is kept alive by people who have dedicated their lives to humanity, not material gain. These Specials give unique insight into the Explore world.

Explore is based on a concept developed by and advanced under the leadership of Charles Annenberg Weingarten, with the support of the Annenberg Foundation.
